Walks from Roma Norte
A practical walking guide for guests who want architecture, cafes, galleries, and leafy streets without planning too much.
What can you walk to from Roma Norte?
The useful answer depends on your block. From the Coahuila side of Roma Norte, Condesa and its parks begin almost immediately. From the Cibeles side, Juarez, Reforma, restaurant corridors, and the northern Roma plazas feel closer. All three routes below work without a car.
Route 1: The Orizaba axis (20-30 minutes)
Start at Plaza Rio de Janeiro, walk south down Orizaba past the historic homes, and end at Plaza Luis Cabrera and its fountain. This is the shortest full picture of central Roma Norte: two plazas, one tree-lined street, and cafes along the way.
Route 2: Coahuila to the Condesa parks (45-90 minutes)
From Parque or Rooftop, walk toward Parque Mexico and Parque Espana, then follow Avenida Amsterdam around its planted oval. Guests staying near Coahuila begin on Roma Norte's quieter southwestern edge, so this route reaches Condesa quickly without giving up a Roma address.
Route 3: The Colima design walk (30-45 minutes)
Colima runs parallel to Alvaro Obregon with galleries, bookstores, design shops, and Casa Lamm near Orizaba. Pair it with the design guide and a coffee stop.
When to walk
Mornings are calmer and better for architecture. Late afternoon works when you want the route to end at dinner. After a late night out, take a ride home; these routes assume daylight or early evening.
