Mexico City has strong independent music energy, but lineups move weekly. The realistic plan: pick one venue below, open its Instagram or listing page, and see who is playing during your stay - not the other way around.
The Roma-Juarez circuit
Within a walk or a short ride you have three different nights: Foro del Tejedor above the Pendulo bookstore for seated singer-songwriter and jazz shows, Foro Indie Rocks for standing indie concerts and club nights, and Parker & Lenox in Juarez for late-night jazz in a listening-room-meets-bar format. Foro La Paz in San Angel is the one worth leaving the neighborhood for.
